Privacy
Your writing is
not our data.
Syncphonia is built around local files. The account service knows what it needs to verify a trial and license; it does not become a copy of your document library.
Effective July 16, 2026
Who is responsible
SyncSpire Ventures Inc., operating as Syncphonia in Quebec, Canada, is responsible for the account and licensing information described here. Privacy and account requests can be sent to support@syncphonia.app.
Documents and local app data
Syncphonia opens the Markdown files and folders you choose. Those documents, local history, themes, preferences, and authorship records remain on your device unless you deliberately export, synchronize, or send content through an optional feature.
Syncphonia does not upload document contents, file names, or library indexes to its licensing service. Product analytics and advertising trackers are not embedded in the desktop editor.
Trial and license account
A verified passwordless account is required to start the 15-day trial and activate a purchased license. The service stores the account email, verification and security events, trial dates, purchase and license status, and an activation identifier for each registered installation.
Activation identifiers are used to enforce the 10-device limit and manage devices. They are not document identifiers and are not used to inspect your files.
Payments and service providers
Payment information is entered directly with Stripe. Syncphonia receives the transaction reference, amount, currency, tax and refund status, and the account needed to issue the license; it does not receive or store the full card number.
Microsoft Azure hosts the website, account service, encrypted account fields, and operational records. SendGrid delivers passwordless sign-in and license emails. Stripe processes checkout, receipts, refunds, disputes, and tax calculations. These providers process only the information required for their role under their own legal and security obligations.
Syncphonia is based in Quebec, Canada. These providers may process information elsewhere in Canada or outside Quebec and Canada, including in the United States, where it can be subject to local law.
Optional connections
If you configure a cloud AI provider and approve a request, the exact selected text and instruction are sent directly to that provider under its terms. Syncphonia shows the destination and scope before sending. API keys stay on your device and are not sent to the Syncphonia licensing service.
Local models, local writing review, and ordinary editing do not require a document-content service. If you choose a synchronization folder or third-party storage location, that provider's privacy terms apply to files you place there.
Website, advertising measurement, and security logs
The website and account service process ordinary connection information such as IP address, browser or app version, request time, and security events. This information is used to deliver the service, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and protect accounts—not to build a targeted-advertising profile.
Essential cookies or equivalent session storage may be used for passwordless sign-in, checkout continuity, security, and account preferences. Syncphonia does not use third-party advertising cookies.
If you arrive through a Google ad, the website asks before saving that ad's click identifier. If you allow it, the identifier is kept in this browser for up to 90 days, carried through Stripe checkout, and sent to Google Ads only after Stripe confirms a purchase, together with the transaction reference, purchase time, amount, and currency. This is used to measure which ads result in purchases; no Markdown content, file names, payment-card number, or advertising-personalization consent is sent. Choosing “No thanks” prevents this storage, and clearing Syncphonia site data removes a saved choice and identifier.
Retention and control
Email sign-in codes and device approval requests expire after 10 minutes. Browser account sessions expire after 30 days. Active device, entitlement, transaction, webhook, security, and audit records are kept while needed to operate or protect the account and for tax, accounting, dispute, and legal obligations. Device activations can be reviewed and removed through the account page.
You may use the account page or email support@syncphonia.app to request access, correction, portability, or deletion of eligible account information. Deleting eligible account data can end license recovery and device management. Some purchase, tax, dispute, and anti-fraud records may be retained or pseudonymized where law requires or permits it.
Changes to this notice
Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Changes do not convert local documents into hosted data or silently enable document telemetry.
